The pronounced anchor-shaped ridge and almost tear-dropped shape of these earrings make them fun yet elegant.
Parvancorina (Par-van-co-ree-na) is a small anchor-shaped fossil (a rather nautical-looking creature!). Some Palaeontologists describe Parvancorina as an ancestor of arthropods (e.g. crabs, prawns and insects), however evidence of jointed appendages has not been found yet - one of the key characters of arthropods.
